Descent Legends of the Dark was a long overdue painting project, with forty models. This game has some of best produced gaming models, one of the few that can legitimately claim to push Games Workshop for quality, and there is no building work required. The artwork and sculpts for this game have a slightly unique and quirky feel, which makes it stand out as different from the many sets i have already done. It remains an unfinished project.
Whilst painting them is fun, progress always slows down for me when i get to the model groups.
Brynn the female human avenger knight. I really like this model, and went with standard colours of bronze and blue, which came out really nicely.
Chance, the hyrrinx rogue and a feline catfolk, it is another great model, a lot of character to it, i went a purple and leather colour, which is fairly close to the artwork.
Kehli, the dwarf artificer or as i have nicknamed her ‘Red Dwarf’. Another great model, my one is in bold red and bronze colours.
Vaerix the dragon hybrid, painted in the standard green artwork colour, and sticking with bronze weaponry.
Galadan the elf huntsman, i really love this miniature, as usual green always looks good and his armour is excellent looking.
Syrus the human wizard, and a magical phoenix, very dramatic looking.
The Rock creatures, where i tried indented colours between the stone cracks.
The Wolves, i again went with painting different colour variations, these are really expressive models.
The Imps, usually painted in colourful combination, i went with green and red
Onto the undead enemies, the Specters are amazing models with such character
The crazy Wights, again amazing expressions
The Bandits, riding the waves of chaos
Enter the Locust Horde. the Berserkers with a great attacking pose
More to come … three groups left now and the dragon
